We are seeking a Landscape Technician to join our team at Bluebird Retirement Community for the summer. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the beauty and functionality of our outdoor spaces, ensuring that residents enjoy a vibrant and welcoming environment. The candidate will also have maintenance experience for simple tasks involving plumbing, electrical, drywall and painting.

Responsibilities

• Perform landscaping duties including planting, digging, and maintaining flower beds and gardens.
• Utilize power tools and hand tools effectively to complete various landscaping tasks.
• Conduct regular lawn care activities such as mowing, trimming, and fertilizing.
• Ensure proper tree care and maintenance of shrubs and plants throughout the community.
• Assist in groundskeeping activities to keep outdoor areas clean and safe for residents.
• Collaborate with team members to design and implement landscape projects that enhance the community's aesthetic appeal.
• Perform routine maintenance and repair throughout the facility, including rooms, common areas, and offices.
• Complete simple plumbing repairs (e.g. repairing leaks, unclogging drains, replacing faucets).
• Complete simple electrical repairs (e.g. replacing light fixtures, outlets, switches or ballasts).
• Repair drywall and prepare surfaces for painting, handle interior and exterior painting projects.
• Assist with general preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment.

Requirements

• Proven experience in landscaping or groundskeeping.
• Strong mechanical knowledge related to landscaping equipment and tools.
• Ability to operate power tools safely and efficiently.
• Familiarity with garden maintenance practices including planting, pruning, and irrigation.
• Excellent physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
