Job summary

The Oratory Schools Association is seeking a qualified Maintenance Operative to join the Estates Team of a busy boarding school. You will install, maintain and repair a range of systems across the estate, ensuring a safe and well-presented campus for pupils, staff and visitors.

Electrical experience is desirable. The role requires strong technical ability, good organisation, and proactive problem solving to manage multiple priorities and contractors effectively.

Qualifications

• Qualified and experienced Maintenance Operative
• Electrical experience is desirable but not essential
• Strong technical knowledge across estate systems
• Efficient, proactive and able to prioritise work

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine checks as assigned by Estates Manager
• Escort and oversee external contractors on site
• Install, maintain and repair systems and equipment across the estate
• Perform periodic testing and inspection of electrical systems per regulations
• Ensure safety codes and regulations are followed at all times
• Communicate effectively with staff to provide excellent service
• Operate authorised plant and equipment with due care
• Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation and best practices
• Undertake other duties as required by the line manager
