Job summary

University of Bath is seeking a full-time cleaner-porter on a fixed-term contract to cover maternity within the Campus Services team. The role involves cleaning, portering, and assisting with event setups across the campus. You will respond to tasks from facilities teams and ensure safe handling of materials.

The position is 36.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 5:00am-12:48pm, with some weekend work on alternate weeks. It offers a supportive environment and opportunities within Campus Services.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning/portering experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Reliability, motivation and professionalism.
• Attention to detail in all tasks.
• Willingness to work early mornings and some weekends.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and tidiness in designated areas.
• Empty general waste and recycling bins.
• Assist with movement of furniture, equipment and deliveries.
• Support room setups for events, meetings and teaching activities.
• Respond to reactive requests from building users and facilities teams.
• Ensure safe handling and storage of materials and supplies.
• Provide a visible, helpful presence for students, staff and visitors.
