Teneo is looking for a talented and driven Associate Consultant (AC) with a passion for business, campaigning, and corporate communications to join our team. Teneo is an integrated communications consultancy, providing all aspects of strategic counsel to business leaders and CEOs.

This role is primarily to support Teneo’s corporate communications and campaigning accounts, joining a thriving team advising high-profile clients on how to create effective narratives, build positive media and stakeholder relationships and tell proactive stories which support a business’s strategic objectives.

As an AC you’ll be the lynchpin for our client account teams – displaying strong project and time management skills, delivering regular insight and analysis, staying ahead of the news agenda, and supporting on clients’ reputational and strategic objectives. ACs manage and coach our Account Executives and work into and learn from our Managing Directors, Directors, Associate Directors, Senior Consultants and Consultants.

Key Responsibilities

As an Associate Consultant at Teneo, you will:

  • Be reliable and responsive with a positive attitude and willingness to get involved without waiting to be asked
  • Understand the importance of managing deadlines and proactively communicating about progress against them
  • Have strong organisational skills to work across different client team, projects simultaneously
  • Demonstrate excellent attention to detail
  • Provide media monitoring on clients and their competitors, using a variety of inputs and tools – resulting in useful insights and advice on implications for clients
  • Build a strong network of effective relationships internally and externally
  • Seek opportunities for growth on client accounts and support on writing new business proposals
  • Provide constructive day to day feedback and coaching to more junior members of the team whilst being able to implement personal feedback received
  • Be a positive, flexible and ambitious team player

Skills and Experience

  • Around 1 - 3 years’ experience in a communications role, within agency or in-house.
  • Strong media relations experience and contacts
  • Confident in producing fast paced proactive media activity including: creative news generation to determine pitch angles, drafting media pitches, identifying relevant media, selling in / liaising with media, attending journalist meetings / briefings
  • Good attention to detail whilst being adept at prioritising what tasks need to be achieved first; what can be de-prioritised
  • Ability to support with drafting of issues statements, leading on monitoring, updating tracking systems and sharing summaries with client
  • Experience in generating good quality research and presenting insights in a useable and engaging way, whilst being able to comprehend at times technical subject matter across different industries / sectors
  • Ability to build solid client relationships and make valuable contributions in internal and external meetings
  • Strong ability to grasp clients’ business objectives and relevant wider industry dynamics whilst being keen to learn more aboutnavigating business challenges.
  • Enthusiasm about creativity and campaigning
