Job description

CAMHS ADHD/ASD Psychiatrist | £250–£333 per assessment | Outside IR35 | Face-to-Face in Canterbury | Flexible Work

With the growing demand for neurodevelopmental assessments and a mounting NHS backlog, your skills have never been more needed. A leading provider of autism and ADHD assessments is expanding their clinical team and seeking GMC-registered psychiatrists to join their associate pool and deliver high-quality assessments for children and young people.

Whether you’re looking for a full schedule or occasional sessions, this is a flexible, fulfilling role where your clinical expertise will make a genuine difference.

Why This Role Stands Out:
  • Impactful Work: Help children, young people and families gain timely diagnoses and support for their neurodiverse journeys.

  • Outside IR35: Paid per assessment (£250–£333), invoiced to your limited company.

  • Flexible Schedule: Choose how and when you work – up to 4 appointments/day, 7 days a week available.

  • Full Admin Support: Spend your time on patient care, not paperwork – admin team manages bookings, formatting, and quality control of reports.

  • Professional Growth: Access regular supervision, peer support, and CPD opportunities – including further training in neurodevelopmental assessments.

  • Values-Driven Team: Join a community rooted in kindness, trust, integrity and commitment to clinical excellence.

The Role:
  • Conduct comprehensive developmental histories and ADHD assessments for ages 3–18.

  • Observe, assess, and interact with children and young people in a compassionate, age-appropriate manner.

  • Review collateral information (e.g., ADOS, home/school feedback) and synthesise findings to formulate a diagnosis.

  • Deliver thoughtful, supportive feedback to families, with clear recommendations and signposting.

  • Work collaboratively with the MDT in planned clinics and offer follow-ups when needed.

  • Produce detailed, DSM-5–compliant diagnostic reports within 48 hours post-assessment (admin support provided).

Who We’re Looking For:
  • GMC-registered doctor with a license to practice.

  • CCT in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry is preferred but not essential.

  • Skilled in conducting NICE-compliant ASD and/or ADHD assessments.

  • Experienced in working with children and young people aged 3–18.

  • Up to date with supervision, appraisal, registration, and revalidation.

  • Able to work face-to-face in Canterbury (clinic-based assessments only).

If you’re passionate about improving outcomes for neurodiverse children and young people – and want flexibility, great rates, and meaningful work – we’d love to hear from you.
