Job summary

West London NHS Trust offers a CAMH Specialist Practitioner training pathway for qualified nurses, social workers, or occupational therapists with post-registration experience. The programme combines formal teaching, experiential learning and supervision to develop CAMHS competencies toward Band 7 Specialist roles.

Participants deliver specialist mental health services to children and young people and their families within the Alliance Crisis Service, undertaking risk assessments and crisis

Qualifications

• Registered Mental Health Nurses, Social workers or Occupational therapists with significant post registration training.
• Experience working in child and adolescent in-patient and/or community services or adult community services.

Responsibilities

• Deliver specialist mental health services to children and young people and their families across the Alliance Crisis Service.
• Conduct comprehensive assessments of children and young people presenting in crisis, including risk assessment.
• Develop and implement risk management plans for CAMHS clients.
• Support progression along the Competence Framework towards Band 7 Specialist roles.
