Job summary

Gloucestershire Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a consultant psychiatrist in CAMHS Neurodevelopment to focus on autism assessment and ADHD medication reviews for young people up to 18. The role includes MDT collaboration, leadership in ADHD pathways, and clinical supervision within a multidisciplinary team.

You will join a community-based service with NHS Foundation Trust support, contributing to safe practice, research, and regional neurodevelopmental links.

Qualifications

• CCT, or six months from CCT to specialist register.
• CAMHS specialism.

Responsibilities

• Specialist autism assessments for complex children and young people with psychiatric formulation.
• Consultant input to ADHD meds initiation and review for under-18s.
• Lead ADHD clinics and support non-medical prescribers.
• Manage a caseload of complex young people requiring consultant input.
• Provide supervision and medication advice to team members.
• Help develop safe ADHD assessment and medication pathways.
• Provide psychiatric input to CAMHS referrals from GPs in Gloucestershire.
• Collaborate in multidisciplinary treatment clinics.
• Contribute to MDT discussions on complex cases.
• Offer consultation to CAMHS, paediatrics, education and others.
• Support quality improvement and enable research.
• Engage in regional and national neurodevelopmental partnerships.
