Job Overview

We are proud to lead integrated multi-agency work with neurodiverse children and families in Telford/Shropshire. This role offers the opportunity to collaborate with professionals with ND expertise, providing consultation, assessment, advice, and therapeutic interventions to young people and their families. Building close relationships with Education, Health, and Social Care colleagues is essential to understanding and addressing the challenges faced by children with additional needs.

We seek a passionate and enthusiastic individual committed to neurodiversity. The Neurodevelopmental Practitioner will work within the Neurodiversity Multidisciplinary Team to assess children and young people for neurodevelopmental differences such as ADHD and ASD, using clinical judgment to guide diagnosis and management, including developmental assessments, school observations, and individual evaluations. The role includes contributing to Duty and Triage referrals, with one day covering duty hours from 9 am to 5 pm.

Responsibilities include:

  • Delivering high-quality ND assessments within the BeeU team for children aged 5-18 with social communication concerns.
  • Conducting ADHD assessments by interpreting complex data from multiple sources, including psychological measures, rating scales, observations, and interviews.
  • Leading specialist autism assessments using standardized tools like ADI-R and ADOS.
  • Ensuring assessments align with NICE guidelines and other relevant standards.
  • Maintaining high personal standards in clinical practice.
  • Prioritizing workload, allocating tasks, and managing all levels of service priorities.
  • Making clinical judgments supported by reasoning and recommendations in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Staying updated on national, regional, and local service drivers and clinical developments in neurodevelopmental pathways.
