Job summary

Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in Long Eaton is seeking a suitably experienced clinician to join the CAMHS Recovery team. You will assess and treat children and young people up to age 18 with a range of mental health needs, working within multidisciplinary teams and under robust supervision.

This role supports systemically, with opportunities for professional development, training, and partnership work with families.

Qualifications

• Current professional registration with a governing body (NMC/HCPC).
• Degree or diploma in Nursing, Social Work or Occupational Therapy.
• Postgraduate qualification in Child Mental Health (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to multidisciplinary CAMHS Recovery pathways.
• Perform comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for children and young people (0–18).
• Provide evidence-based interventions in collaboration with families and services.

We’re looking for a caring, committed professionals to join our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) Recovery team based in Long Eaton and/or at Dale Bank view in Swadlincote. Whether you’re a Mental Health Nurse, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist with experience in mental health, we’d love to welcome you into our team.

This post will predominantly be based within Erewash &/or South Derbyshire

In this rewarding role, you’ll support children and young people up to age 18 who are experiencing a wide range of mental health needs, including trauma, anxiety, depression, neurodevelopmental conditions, and self-harm.

Main duties of the job

You will be supported to develop knowledge and skills in working systemically with children and families within our experienced, multi-disciplinary teams.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

CAMHS is part of the CYP-IAPT initiative, and the post holder will use Routine Outcome Measures to influence and evaluate all interventions offered.

The Recovery team has bases in Derby City, Amber Valley and a team across Erewash and South Derbyshire.

You will receive clinical and managerial supervision and have opportunity to work with the CAMHS improving access to psychological therapies development framework.

We are looking for a suitably-experienced, qualified clinician, who will improve children and young people’s mental health, through providing highly specialist, clinical assessment and treatment within the CAMHS Recovery pathway.

This will involve the assessment and treatment of children and young people who present with a wide range of mental health problems, including trauma, and co‑morbid neuro‑developmental conditions.

In accordance with national and local priorities, clinical guidelines, the post holder will be responsive to the needs and views of local children, young people and their families.

As a Lead Nurse / Practitioner the post holder will work in partnership with the CAMHS leadership team, Medical Consultants and multi‑disciplinary teams, to ensure the highest level of clinical practice in assessment, case management, care co‑ordination and treatment.

They will be required to ensure that the best evidence‑based care is given to children, young people and their families, within the resources available to the service.

There will be an emphasis upon working with complex‑presenting difficulties and multi‑agency networks.

• Post registration experience (recent and relevant) as a Registered professional

• Previous experience of community and home treatment
• Prior experience of working within CAMHS
