A community health organization in London seeks a Band 8a Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners Supervisor/Service Development Lead Clinician to oversee the Community CAMHS team. An exciting opportunity has arisen in Hammersmith and Fulham CAMHS for a skilled and experienced Band 8a Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners Supervisor/Service Development Lead Clinician to join the Community CAMHS (Tier 2) on a full-time permanent contract.
We welcome applicants from a wide variety of professional backgrounds. This role is open to Clinical/Counselling Psychologists, Family Psychotherapists, Nurses, Psychotherapists, and CBT Therapists with BABCP accreditation who have a keen interest in delivering and supervising staff to provide evidence-based low-intensity and guided self-help interventions.
The team is a large, multidisciplinary group offering targeted, early interventions to children and young people aged 0-18 experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The team develops relationships within community organizations such as youth groups, faith groups, children’s centres, family hubs, and GP settings.
There are many opportunities for ongoing staff development and training.
The post holder will join an established multidisciplinary CAMHS team responsible for Tier 2 mental health services within the borough. The role involves working in Hammersmith and Fulham Community CAMHS with young people aged 0-18. The clinic is based in central Hammersmith, with some travel to other parts of the borough to attend community settings.
This role includes coordinating and delegating work, providing supervision, and supporting the Children’s Wellbeing Practitioners’ skill development and competence. The post holder will also support trainee CWPs in their course requirements.
The post involves training CWPs to deliver high-quality, brief, evidence-based therapeutic interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties, either individually or in groups.
