Job Description

We are partnered with a leading private mental health provider seeking to recruit a CAMHS Consultant Psychiatrist for a specialist Eating Disorder service. This service provides exceptional care in a fast-paced, rewarding, and supportive environment for children and young people aged 8–18 years.

About the Role

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will work ideally 37.5 hours per week, over four or five days, delivering evidence-based treatment plans to help young people understand their eating behaviors and restore their physical and mental health.

This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled multidisciplinary team to create individualized treatment plans within a nurturing environment. You will assess, plan, and support the recovery journeys of young people while maintaining regular communication with families and external care teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Review referrals and assess suitability for admission.
• Conduct admission assessments and develop comprehensive management plans.
• Perform regular risk assessments and oversee the allocation of specialist psychological treatments.
• Monitor and assess physical health.
• Act as the Responsible Clinician for detained patients under the Mental Health Act.
• Participate in on-call responsibilities as part of the role.

What We’re Looking For

• Registration on the Specialist Register for Child and Adolescent Psychiatry with a valid license to practice.
• Experience in CAMHS eating disorders (desirable).
