CAMHS Community Eating Disorder Practitioner

Join to apply for the CAMHS Community Eating Disorder Practitioner role at Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust

BeeU provides emotional wellbeing and mental health services for children and young people (ages 0 to 25) in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin.

As a CAMHS Community Eating Disorder Practitioner, you will deliver community-based psychotherapeutic services to Children & Young People and their families referred to the YP-CED team. You will work as part of the YP-CED Multi-Disciplinary Team, providing assessment and evidence-based interventions in accordance with NICE guidance. Interventions will be delivered on a one-to-one, family, and group basis to promote recovery from eating disorders, tailored to the service area's needs in collaboration with children, young people, and their families or carers.

Main duties of the job
  • Deliver evidence-based treatment interventions on a one-to-one, family, and group basis to promote recovery from eating disorders.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop pathways and share information with other mental health services and professionals.
  • Establish and maintain strong links with GPs, schools, colleges, pediatric services, and other healthcare and non-healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care planning.
  • Assess and provide appropriate interventions for individuals with eating disorders, following NICE guidelines.
  • Manage a caseload of clients with eating disorders and possible co-morbidities within the community.
  • Lead clinical case meetings, safeguarding, TAC, Early Help, and CPA reviews to address the needs of children and young people with eating disorders and support their recovery.

Qualifications

  • Registered mental health Nurse or Allied Health Professional on NMC or HCPC Register.
  • Post-registration experience with formal training at diploma/degree level.

Desirable:

  • Further training in therapeutic models (e.g., CBT, CBT-E, Family-based treatment, Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy).

Experience

  • Experience assessing and managing risk and using the Care Programme Approach.

Desirable:

  • Experience working with CYP suffering from Eating Disorders and co-morbidities.
