About FOMO Rentals

FOMO Rentals is a camera, lighting, and audio equipment rental house based in Shoreditch. We're a young, dynamic team of filmmakers passionate about supporting the UK’s creative industry. Our offering includes kit, competitive prices, real-world experience, expertly maintained gear, enthusiasm, and a shared love for filmmaking.

We're also home to FOMO House, the UK's first filmmaking clubhouse and community space, hosting kit workshops, events, and mentorship for emerging filmmakers.

The Role

We’re looking for a Camera, Lens and Lighting Technician (Film and TV) to join us at FOMO. This hands-on role involves maintaining and preparing equipment, supporting clients with technical needs, and ensuring high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Preparing, testing, and packing equipment for client projects
  • Diagnosing equipment issues
  • Logging and organising repairs of damaged equipment
  • Maintaining organisation and cleanliness of the kit room
  • Recommending new products and technologies
  • Advising clients on technical setups and gear choices
  • Assisting with customer crews during preps and tests

Who You Are

  • Self-motivated, diligent, and detail-oriented
  • A fast learner with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
  • Confident working under pressure and handling last-minute changes
  • Technically knowledgeable about professional camera systems and accessories — including ARRI, RED, Sony, Canon, Aputure, etc.
  • Comfortable communicating with clients and offering technical advice
  • Ideally 1+ year of experience in a rental house or 2+ years in a technical role on film/TV productions (Assistant camera, etc.)

What We Offer

  • Free use of FOMO kit for personal projects
  • A supportive and creative environment that values initiative
  • Work at the heart of London’s filmmaking scene in a dynamic, central hub, not a warehouse on an industrial estate
  • Opportunities for growth through training, workshops, and industry events
  • Performance bonus via EMI share options — a tax-efficient way to share in the business’s future success
