Job summary

Options is seeking a PHP/SQL Web Developer to join our Cambridge-based team. You will develop tools for maintenance and monitoring of our market data systems and contribute to various business functions within the team.

Ideal candidates have 1–2 years in a related role, strong PHP and MySQL experience, and familiarity with modern backend languages, frameworks (Symfony/Laravel/Django), and Docker. A Mathematics or Computer Science degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years in a related role or equivalent project.
• Demonstrated PHP and MySQL experience with large datasets.
• Experience with at least one modern backend language (PHP8, Node.js, Python).
• Understanding of OOP design, microservices, API design, and refactoring/testing.
• Experience with a modern web framework (Symfony, Laravel, Django).
• Knowledge of web app security practices.
• Experience with Docker or container tools.
• Degree or equivalent in Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.

Responsibilities

• Develop tools for maintenance and monitoring of market data systems.
• Contribute to other business functions within the Market Data Team.
• Collaborate with graduates or final year students on related projects.
