About the Role
Morson is currently recruiting a skilled CAM Engineer to join our composite manufacturing client in the Bristol area. We are looking for engineers specialising in programming and optimisation of automated composite manufacturing processes. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on innovative projects at the forefront of composite part production technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and program AFP (Automated Fibre Placement) / ATL (Automated Tape Laying) systems for composite component manufacturing.
  • Work with CAM and simulation tools to optimise fibre paths and manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate in a multidisciplinary team to solve complex engineering challenges.
  • Ensure composite designs are manufacturable and meet defect control standards.
  • Translate plybooks and design data into efficient automated manufacturing strategies.
  • Apply best practices to manage manufacturing constraints and improve production outcomes.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Experience programming AFP/ATL systems for composite manufacturing.
  • Proficiency in CAM and simulation software, ideally including CATIA V5/V6, CADFiber, CATFiber, and/or Vericut Composites.
  • Strong understanding of composite materials, fibre paths, plybooks, and defect prevention.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing constraints and best practices for automated layup processes.
  • Proactive, collaborative approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
