Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd in Solihull is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant for a welcoming mainstream primary school. The role is term-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, with immediate start.

You will build rapport with pupils, provide in-class and 1:1 support, and help children with emotional and behavioural needs in a calm, supportive setting. Flexibility for occasional cover is welcomed, and the school is committed to safeguarding and inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting primary school children, including those needing behavioural support.
• Ability to build rapport with pupils and manage challenging behaviours.
• Calm, patient, and nurturing approach to helping children regulate emotions.
• Willingness to work term-time only and potentially cover flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the classroom and 1:1 during quiet time outside the classroom.
• Assist with emotional and behavioural regulation and transitions between activities.
• Collaborate with teachers to support inclusive learning.
