Job summary

Quantum Scholars are seeking a patient and experienced GCSE Physics SEND Tutor to provide personalised one-to-one tuition for a young person in Wokingham. The role requires strong Physics knowledge, capability to adapt teaching to meet SEND needs, and a calm, supportive approach to help the learner build confidence and progress toward GCSE goals.

The tutor will cover the GCSE Physics curriculum (mechanics, energy, electricity, waves, forces, radioactivity) and may incorporate Astronomy topics

Qualifications

Strong Physics knowledge at GCSE level or above.
Experience teaching GCSE Physics.
Experience working with secondary-aged learners with SEND.
Experience providing one-to-one support desirable.
Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual SEND needs.
Knowledge or experience of Astronomy would be highly beneficial.
SEMH experience would be highly desirable.
Patient, calm, flexible and empathetic approach.
Ability to build trusting relationships with young people.
Strong communication and organisational skills.

Responsibilities

Provide personalised one-to-one GCSE Physics tuition.
Support a secondary-aged learner with SEND.
Cover the GCSE Physics curriculum, including mechanics, energy, electricity, waves, forces and radioactivity.
Adapt lessons, resources and teaching approaches to meet the learner's individual needs.
Monitor progress and provide appropriate feedback.
