Job description

Cover Supervisor (Secondary School - London) Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff.

  • Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans and ensure students stay on task.

  • Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school s policies.

  • Provide feedback to the absent teacher on the lesson and student performance.

  • Maintain a safe and productive learning environment.

Typical Working Hours:
  • School hours (approx. 8:00 AM 3:30 PM), Monday to Friday.

  • Term-time only, with full-time, part-time, and supply/flexible options.

Requirements: Essential:
  • Good standard of education (minimum GCSEs in English and Maths).

  • Strong classroom management skills.

  • Confidence in dealing with secondary-aged pupils ( or ).

  • Reliable, flexible, and calm under pressure.

Desirable:
  • Experience working in a school or with young people (e.g., tutoring, youth work, teaching assistant roles).

  • Degree-level education, especially for those considering a future in teaching.

  • Enhanced DBS check (you'll need this to work in schools).
