Calibration Technician (Contract – Inside IR35)

Location: Telford Service Centre

Rate: £25/hour (via umbrella)

Type: Full-time, Contract (12+ months)

IR35 Status: Inside IR35 (via umbrella company)

Are you looking to kickstart your engineering career in calibration and test? Want to work with a wide range of electronic and mechanical instruments in a professional service environment?

We’re looking for a Junior Calibration Technician to join a well-established service centre in Telford. You’ll gain hands-on experience calibrating a variety of test and measurement tools, while learning from a team of experienced professionals.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Routine calibration, validation, and minor repair of electrical and mechanical tools and test equipment
2. Working with instruments such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and torque tools
3. Occasionally supporting on-site calibrations at customer locations (less than 25% travel)
4. Collaborating with senior engineers in a structured, high-quality environment
5. Communicating with internal teams and customers to ensure service standards are met

What We’re Looking For

1. 1–2 years’ experience in electronics, calibration, or test engineering
2. Familiarity with test and measurement tools (basic troubleshooting skills a plus)
3. Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering quality work
4. Good communication skills and a positive, can-do attitude
5. Eligibility for UK Security Clearance
