Job description

Calibration Technician, Hinckley

  • Calibration Technician jobs or Instrument Calibration Technician jobs or Electronics Technician jobs within precision engineering, automotive, or test lab environments.
  • 28,000 - 32,000 salary guide (pro rata) plus excellent benefits including a good pension and 27 days holiday plus all bank holidays.
  • Work with advanced instrumentation used in electric vehicle development, motorsport, and defence R&D sectors.

An opportunity to work as an Calibration Technician for a technically advanced engineering business operating at the forefront of automotive research and development. Working in an ISO 17025 UKAS-accredited laboratory, you will support the calibration and maintenance of highly sophisticated test instruments used in critical development and testing environments.

This Calibration Technician job will suit:

  • A Calibration Technician / Electronics Technician / Engineering Technician with some previous calibration experience.
  • Experience working in a calibration lab (preferably UKAS accredited) and familiar with ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards.
  • Comfortable working with instrumentation, circuit boards, and making component-level changes (e.g., surface mount devices).
  • Skilled in using computer systems for calibration data processing and equipment management.
  • You will hold a Level 3 (or higher) qualification in a relevant discipline.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical reports and calibration certificates.

This Calibration Technician job will involve:

  • Performing multi-disciplinary calibration of instrumentation to ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 standards.
  • Assessing instrument faults and carrying out minor repairs or component replacements.
  • Producing technical reports and calibration certificates for internal and external clients.
  • Supporting client on-site calibration activities and liaising directly with engineering staff.
  • Using databases and systems for managing calibration data and tracking equipment status.
  • Assisting in the development and improvement of calibration procedures and equipment.
