Job description

Syntech is recruiting for a talented and experienced Calibration Technician to join a well-established UKAS accredited business based in the Bristol area. The successful applicant will be involved in the calibration of various instrument types.

Roles and Responsibilities:
  1. Calibration Scope Maintenance: Be conversant with the technical procedures and data recording of calibration events and, with guidance from the technical manager, help maintain the laboratory’s scope of accreditation.
  2. Validation & Verification Maintenance: Participate in the company’s inter-laboratory schedule as guided by the technical manager, ensuring the entire UKAS schedule is covered during a four-year period.
  3. Participate in the intra-laboratory schedule as guided by the technical manager.
  4. Participate in the cross comparison schedule as guided by the technical manager.
  5. Participate in the drift checking schedule as guided by the technical manager.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Education: GCSE or equivalent
  • Experience: Ideally previous experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited laboratory, though this is not essential.
  • Skills:
    • Knowledge and basic understanding of ISO/IEC 17025 requirements is advantageous but not mandatory, as full training will be provided.
    • Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to assist in training other staff members.
