Job Location: Nottingham

Hours : Monday-Friday - 08:00-16:00 typical occasional Saturdays, days based

Client: Global FMCG Consumer Manufacturer

The Role - Calibration & Instrumentation Technician

We're looking for a skilled and proactive Calibration & Instrumentation Technician to support the manufacturing and packaging of products. You'll ensure all plant and equipment is calibrated, safe, and compliant.

Perform and oversee calibration and control system maintenance on days

Maintain and update calibration certificates, logs, and audit trails

Identify out-of-tolerance instruments, investigate root cause, and support impact assessments

Decommission or quarantine faulty or failed instruments and coordinate repair/replacement

Carry out routine and corrective calibration on-site for laboratory, production, and process equipment

Manage external calibration services, including vendor liaison, documentation, and compliance checks

Maintain and enhance the calibration system, developing procedures and conducting criticality assessments

Diagnose and resolve electrical/control system faults and carry out preventative maintenance

Support breakdown investigations and improvement activities

Maintain and update technical documentation

Work with CMMS to plan and complete scheduled work

Supervise calibration contractors and source spares/materials when needed

Requirements - Calibration & Instrumentation Technician (C&I) Engineer, Days Based

Apprentice trained in electrical or control systems

HNC / HTQ Level 4 (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline

Minimum experience in a calibration or electrical controls role

Experience with control loops: pressure, temperature, level, flow, force, etc.

Familiarity with automation sensors, and instrumentation calibration
