Job summary

Keltonhill Farm in Castle Douglas is seeking a calf rearer to join our robotic dairy operation. The role involves calf rearing on a robotic feeder, bottle feeding young calves, health checks and routine farm tasks.

We are happy to train the right candidate, with references required and local living essential. Flexible hours and the option for part-time or salary work are available; no accommodation is provided.

Qualifications

• Willing to learn and train with current team.
• Ability to work locally and meet references.

Holm & Laue robotic calf feeding machines
To start as soon as available however we are not in a rush if a notice period requires to be worked
Regular time off
Salaried or self employed applicants welcome
Flexible working – can fit around other jobs or children etc
Additional hours possible for the right candidate, either regularly or occasionally

Duties to include:

• Calf rearing on a robotic calf feeder
• Bottle feeding young calves
• Checking calves and spotting those that are unwell
• Administration of drugs
• Keeping the calf shed clean and tidy to a very high standard at all times
• Together with a variety of other daily tasks

Some experience is preferred but we are happy to train someone if they are a good fit with our current team.
