Job summary

Tesco Cafés in Aberystwyth is hiring a Team Member to join our friendly kitchen and service team. You’ll help prepare, serve and maintain our café menu, ensuring high standards of hygiene and safety while delivering great customer service.

Shifts are flexible and aimed at minimum 8 hours per week, with clear scheduling and support from the Cafés management. We value teamwork, reliability and a proactive attitude.

Qualifications

• A commitment to hospitality and excellent customer service.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety standards.
• The ability to work efficiently and maintain a clean environment.
• Comfortable working in a team.
• Great communicator with a proactive attitude.
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Keeping kitchen equipment and utensils clean and tidy.
• Serving customers quickly, efficiently and with care.
• Following food safety and hygiene regulations while keeping daily records.
• Practising first in, first out (FIFO) stock rotation to keep our food fresh.
• Accepting deliveries and handling the safe storage of food.
• Being aware of (and following) all operational policies and procedures.
• Preparing, cooking, and serving food according to our café's delicious menu.
• Making sure we maintain our standards and all food products are available.
• Knowing our café's menu inside and out and serving food exactly as it’s intended.
• Resolving customer complaints and passing on information to the Café Manager.
• Staying up-to-date with business communications and exciting new initiatives.
• Clearing and sanitising tables so our café stays clean.
