Job summary

Tesco Cafes in Crewe is seeking a friendly Team Member to join our cafe team. You’ll help prepare, cook and serve food to the high standards our customers expect while following safety guidelines and FIFO stock rotation.

With flexible hours and a minimum of 8 guaranteed hours per week, you’ll work as part of a bubbly team delivering great service and ensuring every dish meets the menu specification and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospitality or cafe environment preferred.
• Able to follow recipes and safety standards.
• Excellent communication and friendly manner with customers.

Responsibilities

• Follow food safety and hygiene regulations and keep daily records.
• Accept deliveries and store food safely using FIFO.
• Prepare, cook and serve food according to the cafe menu.
• Resolve customer complaints and pass on information to the Caf Manager.
• Keep kitchen and dining areas clean and well-organised.

• Following food safety and hygiene regulations while keeping daily records.
• Practising first in, first out (FIFO) stock rotation to keep our food fresh.
• Accepting deliveries and handling the safe storage of food.
• Being aware of (and following) all operational policies and procedures.
• Preparing, cooking, and serving food according to our cafs delicious menu.
• Making sure we maintain our standards and all food products are available.
• Knowing our cafs menu inside and out and serving food exactly as its intended.
• Resolving customer complaints and passing on information to the Caf Manager.
• Staying up-to-date with business communications and exciting new initiatives. A commitment to hospitality and excellent customer service.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety standards.
• The ability to work efficiently and maintain a clean environment.
• Comfortable working in a team.
• Great communicator with a proactive attitude.
• Ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
• Confident using your initiative to improve ways of working.
• Good at planning and keeping things organised.

As a Team Member in our caf, you're part of everything - a bit of cooking, a bit of chatting with customers, and a lot of impact. Along with this, youll help keep everything, from kitchen equipment to customer tables tidy and clean.
