NHS Scotland is seeking a Café Supervisor for the Belford Hospital, responsible for managing café services, ensuring high-quality customer experience, and supervising a team. This full-time role requires experience in team management and an understanding of operational standards, with an emphasis on service quality in a healthcare setting.

We are currently seeking to recruit a Cafe Supervisor to join our team in the Belford Hospital. This post will be based in the Hospital, promoting and merchandising our new retail offer, serving fresh baked goods, beverages to our colleagues, patients and visitors, ensuring high standards of service of a quality retail offer and to provide an exceptional customer service experience.
As a Cafe Supervisor, you will supervise the dining room, café and vending rooms within the Rural General Hospital that you are based. You will have the tenacity to deal with very high volumes whilst still maintaining the quality and service standards. You will have the proven capacity to manage a team, motivating them and leading by example with a ‘can do’ attitude. You will ensure that our customers will receive prompt service, quality beverages and products and ensure that the team will deliver a friendly and clean atmosphere. You will have an understanding of business management including stock and cost control.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for ensuring high standards of service and cleanliness are maintained in line with local infection control policies, Covid 19 guidance and maintaining compliance with the NHS Scotland National Cleaning Services Specification, and Waste Regulations.
You may be required to cover, when needed, a hospitality role when functions are planned, out with business hours and hospitality support is required in other NHS Sites, in North West Highland.
You will meet specified cleaning schedules, and promote and maintain high standards of cleanliness within the environment.
Catering duties will include preparation, presentation and merchandising of retail products which may include a range of freshly prepared seasonal retail products.
This is a full-time post, being available to provide a service during business hours on week days, available Monday to Friday. We offer a full comprehensive induction and training package.
