Job description

Café Chef Required (The Hive Café on Croxley Green Business Park)

Monday to Friday, 39 paid hours per week. £32,500 per annum

Monday & Friday 7am-3pm

Tue – Thu 6.45am to 3.15pm or 7am – 3.30pm

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing and serving food for call order bistro style breakfast and lunch services working within a total team of five front and back of house.
  • Hospitality catering as requested.
  • Involved in all areas of due diligence, food ordering, menu planning (including themed events and promotional activity), stock take, mechanical washing up, and cleaning down duties.
  • Lead, inspire, collaborate, and support your direct reports to deliver consistently exceptional standards.
  • Build positive, credible relationships and communication methods with clients and other key stakeholders.
  • Continually look to develop your team through mentoring, training, recognition, and empowerment.
  • Create a culture of excellence with your team, striving for brilliance through caring service, obsessive food standards, and innovation.
  • Achieve business critical KPIs including Health and Safety, Sustainability, Financial and Governance.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working as a Chef or in a similar role.
  • Obsession for food and creating experiences.
  • Experience in managing, training, and supporting a team.
  • Financially astute, analytical, and capable of creating and maintaining budgets.
  • Excellent coaching, delegation, and influencing skills.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced, creative environment.
  • Meticulous organizational abilities and high attention to detail.
  • Empathetic, clear, and effective verbal and written communication.
  • Ability to adapt to challenges and opportunities with a solution-oriented perspective.
  • Excellent strategic thinking and critical reasoning skills.
