About the role

We’re seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Cafe & Bar Assistant to join our busy London Workspaces team. This is a hands-on, all-round hospitality role, focusing on assisting in the day-to-day running of our cafe and bar, ensuring guests receive high-quality service in a welcoming environment. Experience supporting events is a bonus.

Our London workspace spans 40,000 sqm, hosting around 300 members and 350 visitors weekly, with facilities including a café/bar, fixed and hot desking, private offices, meeting rooms, and event spaces.

Your key responsibilities

• Café/bar operations: Assist in food and beverage preparation and service, handle transactions, maintain stock, and keep the environment inviting.
• Customer Service: Provide friendly, efficient service, addressing questions and concerns professionally.
• Compliance and Safety: Follow health, safety, and hygiene standards, ensuring cleanliness.
• Team Collaboration: Work with the team to ensure smooth operations and excellent guest experience.
• Events: Support setup and breakdown of event spaces, including furniture and A/V equipment, and assist with food and beverage service.

Requirements

We need you to have:

• Proven experience as a barista, with high-quality coffee skills.
• Experience in hospitality, bar service, or event support, with a focus on customer service.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.
• Strong communication skills.
• A proactive, can-do attitude.
• Flexibility to work evenings.
• Ability to handle equipment and furniture safely, following manual handling guidelines.
• Remaining composed and taking initiative during emergencies.
• Hours: 40 hours/week, Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts between 8am-10pm, with flexibility for events.
• Remuneration: £28,808/year.
