Job summary

Tesco Cafs is hiring for team members to support food preparation, serving customers and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. You’ll help ensure every dish meets our standards and that customers enjoy a positive experience.

We welcome applicants who are good communicators, able to multitask, and comfortable working in a team, with flexible patterns across Tesco Cafs nationwide.

Responsibilities

• Keep kitchen equipment and utensils clean and tidy.
• Serve customers quickly, efficiently and with care.
• Follow food safety and hygiene regulations while keeping daily records.
• Practise FIFO stock rotation to keep food fresh.
• Accept deliveries and handle safe storage of food.
• Follow all operational policies and procedures.
• Prepare, cook, and serve food according to the caf's standards.
• Ensure food products are available and menu understood.
• Resolve customer complaints and relay information to the Caf Manager.
• Stay updated with business communications and new initiatives.

Whats the secret ingredient behind our cafs big breakfast? Or our terrifically toasted teacake? Beyond fresh ingredients, its the care of our Back of House team, of course. They prepare food, keep our kitchens clean, and deliver the consistent quality our customers know and love.

As a member of this team and someone whos dedicated to great service, youll make sure every dish lives up to the promise of our menu, all while keeping our kitchen clean and tidy as you go. Its an essential and varied role, where your work helps to make every day a little better.

Whilst specific responsibilities will be dependent upon the changing needs of Tesco as a business, the following provides an overview of the roles key responsibilities and measures:

• Keeping kitchen equipment and utensils clean and tidy.
• Serving customers quickly, efficiently and with care.

• Practising first in, first out (FIFO) stock rotation to keep our food fresh.
• Accepting deliveries and handling the safe storage of food.
• Being aware of (and following) all operational policies and procedures.
• Preparing, cooking, and serving food according to our cafs
• Making sure we maintain our standards and all food products are available.
• Knowing our cafs menu inside and out and serving food exactly as its intended.
• Resolving customer complaints and passing on information to the Caf Manager.
• Staying up to date with business communications and exciting new initiatives.
