Job description

We are seeking a Caf Assistant, to be based at our Stornoway campus.

A college + university like no other

With 19 campuses and centres across the North and West Highlands, Skye, and Outer Hebrides, we cover a geographic area larger than Wales, comprising 40% of Scotland’s coastline. Our campuses and centres are located within historic towns and villages, set amongst the shorelines, mountains, and moors, with local staff working across our region to support our students and communities.

Position: We are seeking a Café Assistant, to be based at our Stornoway campus.

Responsibilities: The post holder will be responsible to assist in the provision of a quality café service to College students, staff and external clients. To be responsible in all areas of the café including making hot and cold sandwiches, serving customers, handling money and maintaining a clean working environment.

Qualifications, Experience and Skills: The suitable candidate will have customer Service experience and have the knowledge and skills for multitasking in a busy café environment and to work as part of a team.

A level of Gaelic ability would be advantageous to your application.

Salary: £24,366 per annum, pro rata, Plus Islands Allowance

Location: Stornoway

Working Hours: 30 hours, Temporary until February 2026

Closing Date: Friday 22nd August 2025
