Job description

CAD Technician / Draughtsperson who has an eye for detail with great organisational, time-management and communication skills is required for a well-established design and manufacturing company based in Corby, Northamptonshire, East Midlands.

ALL LEVELS OF EXPERIENCE CONSIDERED - ADDITIONAL TRAINING PROVIDED

This job will involve supporting the Project Manager and liaising with client-side Project Coordinators on a wide range of manufacturing projects for bespoke fire doors, panels and joinery products. You will need some CAD experience and an eye for detail. Additional on the job training will be provided.

SALARY: £30,000 - £37,000 per annum (depending on experience) + Benefits (see below)

LOCATION: Corby, Northamptonshire, East Midlands (NN17)

We have a fantastic new office-based job opportunity for a CAD Technician / Draughtsperson (known within the business as a Project Coordinator) who has an eye for detail with great organisational, time-management and communication skills.

Working as the CAD Technician / Draughtsperson your primary purpose in this role is to use the required CAD software to design bespoke fire doors, panels and joinery products.

As the CAD Technician / Draughtsperson you will work closely with the Project Manager, manufacturing teams, and suppliers to ensure the smooth processing of orders, while adhering to industry standards and safety regulations.

DUTIES

  1. Order Processing: Coordinate the scheduling and processing of fire doors, panels, and joinery orders, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations and orders run efficiently.
  2. Manufacturing Coordination: Create detailed manufacturing specifications and CAD to support production.
  3. Fire Door Compliance: Ensure fire door orders comply with relevant safety certifications (e.g., BS 476, EN 1634-1), including maintaining up-to-date knowledge of fire safety regulations.
  4. Liaising with Stakeholders: Communicate effectively with clients, project managers, site managers, and suppliers to ensure accurate order processing and timely delivery of fire doors, panels, and joinery items.
  5. Team Collaboration: Assist Project Managers with high-value projects and provide additional support to other team members as needed.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  1. Technical Proficiency: Experience with CAD software, along with general proficiency in IT applications.
  2. Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with clients, project teams, and suppliers effectively.
  3. Problem-Solving Abilities: A proactive approach to identifying solutions for any project-related issues.
  4. Attention to Detail: Methodical and precise in order processing, ensuring accuracy across all specifications, drawings, and documentation.
  5. Independent Working: Ability to take responsibility for independent tasks and manage on-site inspections to ensure project accuracy.
