ST TALENT is recruiting a CAD Technician for a Leeds-based role within an established UK manufacturer. You will support the drawing process from setup through to detailed drawings ready for issue, focusing on detailing rather than design.

The role offers training under a Design Engineer and opportunities to develop technical skills in a supportive manufacturing environment. Prior CAD/architectural detailing experience is desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as CAD Technician, Draughtsperson or architectural detailing role.
• Confident AutoCAD skills are essential.
• Experience in construction or architecture or related built environment discipline.
• Revit experience is beneficial; full training will be provided.
• Good understanding of building construction and ability to learn quickly.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to follow company drawing standards.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural/project information and set up drawings or models in AutoCAD or Revit.
• Prepare drawings for initial design reviews before handing over to the Design Engineer.
• Complete drawings with dimensions, annotations, notes and schedules to company standards.
• Check drawings for accuracy and readiness for issue.
• Manage drawing revisions following client/architect feedback.
• Maintain the shared job tracker to track progress between stages.
• Collaborate with the Design Engineer and escalate technical queries when needed.

CAD Technician / Architectural Detailing

ST TALENT are recruiting for a CAD Technician on behalf of an established UK manufacturer based in Leeds

This role would suit someone with strong AutoCAD skills and experience in architectural detailing, construction or a similar technical environment. Working as part of the Technical Team, you\'ll work alongside a Design Engineer, supporting the drawing process from initial set-up through to the completion of detailed drawings ready for issue.

The role focuses on preparing, detailing and checking drawings rather than carrying out structural design. You\'ll receive training and mentoring from the Design Engineer, making this a great opportunity for someone looking to develop their technical skills within an established manufacturing business.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review incoming architectural and project information and set up drawings or models using AutoCAD or Revit.


• Prepare drawings for initial design reviews before handing over to the Design Engineer.


• Complete drawings following the design stage, adding dimensions, annotations, notes and schedules to company standards.


• Check drawings for accuracy and ensure they are ready for issue.


• Process drawing revisions following feedback from clients and architects.


• Maintain the shared job tracker to ensure work progresses smoothly between stages.


• Work closely with the Design Engineer, escalating technical queries and design decisions where required.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a CAD Technician, Draughtsperson, Architectural Technician or architectural detailing role would be advantageous.


• Confident and proven AutoCAD skills are essential.


• Experience within construction, architecture or a related built environment discipline.


• A BTEC, HNC or HND in Architectural Technology, Construction or a related subject would be desirable, although relevant practical experience will also be considered.


• Revit experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training and mentoring will be provided.


• A good understanding of building construction, or the ability and willingness to learn.


• Excellent attention to detail and the ability to follow established drawing standards and templates.


• Good organisational and written communication skills.


• Driving license and access to your own vehicle is essential due to the location of the business.
