Job summary

B&M Retail Limited in Runcorn is seeking a CAD Technician to join our Store Development team. Based at our distribution centre, you will use AutoCAD LT to design layouts for new stores, extensions and refurbishments and convert physical plans into precise digital drawings.

You will work closely with our site surveyor and property teams to keep store plans up to date, manage multiple tasks to tight deadlines, and support purchasing of equipment where needed.

Qualifications

• Proficient in AutoCAD LT with strong drafting experience for stores and refurbishments.
• Solid understanding of UK building regulations and retail standards.
• High accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Ability to prioritise multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Produce and amend AutoCAD layouts for new stores, extensions and refurbishments.
• Convert PDF and paper plans into digital CAD files.
• Create accurate fire plans for submission to authorities.
• Update layouts using information from the site surveyor.
• Maintain up-to-date store plans across the business.
• Assist with ordering equipment such as checkouts and shelving components.
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors, surveyors, the property team, and senior management.
• Provide general administrative support to the Store Development Manager.

Job description

We have an exciting opportunity for a CAD Technician to join our fast-paced Store Development team, based at our Distribution Centre in Runcorn (WA7 1SE). This is a fantastic role for someone with strong AutoCAD LT skills and a keen eye for detail, looking to play a key part in the design and development of our growing retail estate.

Please note: Our location is not easily accessible by public transport, so having your own means of transport is strongly advised.* The role is fully office based, Monday to Friday.

What you'll be doing:

• Producing & amending AutoCAD layouts for new stores, extensions, & refurbishments
• Converting PDF & paper plans into digital formats
• Creating accurate fire plans for submission to the relevant authorities
• Updating layouts in line with information from our site surveyor
• Maintaining up-to-date store plans across the business
• Assisting with ordering equipment (e.g., checkouts, shelving components)
• Liaising with suppliers, contractors, surveyors, the property team, & senior management
• Providing general administrative support to the Store Development Manager

What you'll bring:
