CAD Technician (M&E)

Location: Dunmow, Essex
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Noble Recruiting is excited to be working with a prestigious and well-established client in Dunmow, Essex, who is looking to appoint an experienced M&E CAD Technician. This is a full-time, permanent position offering the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s most impressive residential and architectural design projects.

Please note: Own transport is essential due to the rural office location.

Role Overview

As an M&E CAD Technician, you will be responsible for producing detailed and accurate service drawings for kitchens, bathrooms, and other interior spaces across high-end residential projects. You’ll work closely with internal teams (design, project management, and installation) as well as external architects and contractors to ensure smooth and precise project delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create preliminary and revised service drawings for various rooms, including kitchens and bathrooms
  • Produce installation and worktop drawings in line with design specifications
  • Liaise with the design team to maintain design intent through amendments
  • Ensure contractors and engineers have correct and up-to-date information through accurate service drawings
  • Maintain an organised digital directory of all required drawings
  • Accurately reference all drawings, including revisions post-survey and post-installation
  • Support the project and installation teams with any additional drawing requirements
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role
  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator
  • Strong knowledge of M&E and building practices
  • Capable of producing clear, technically accurate, and comprehensive drawings
  • Excellent attention to detail with a creative approach to problem-solving
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Passionate about design and technical drafting with a willingness to learn
