Job summary

Enterprise Recruitment Ltd is recruiting a CAD Technician for an award-winning engineering manufacturer near Reading. You will bridge design and manufacturing, translating markups into 3D models and supporting lifecycle documentation.

The role requires 3+ years in CAD/technical illustration, solid SolidWorks skills, and experience with data management and data-sheet creation. An engineering degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience as CAD technician/DCC/illustrator within a manufacturing/engineering environment.
• Proficient with SolidWorks, data management systems, technical writing and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Translate engineering markups into existing 3D models.
• Manage project lifecycles and create manuals and data sheets.
• BOM maintenance and ECN/ECO processing.
• Drafting standards compliance.

We have a rare opportunity to bring on a CAD Technician with a growing client who produces products for the space and defence sectors. Established now for over 30 years; you'd be joining them in a period of growth, looking to embed the next generation of engineering talent amongst their team.

Reporting into the Mechanical Engineering Lead, you'll be a critical bridge between design engineering and manufacturing, where you'll translate engineering markups into existing 3D models, help manage project lifecycles and create technical documentation, i.e. manuals and data sheets.

What are we looking for?

• 3 years + experience as a CAD technician, document controller or technical illustrator within a manufacturing and engineering environment
• Proficient with SolidWorks, data management systems, technical writing and documentation

Desirable:

• Bachelors degree in engineering
• Technically proficient with Adobe inDesign and able to read schematics/wiring diagrams
• Industry background: aerospace, defence, satcom, structural steel, heavy precision
