We are looking for a talented and detail-oriented CAD Technician / Designer to join our dynamic team based at our office in High Wycombe. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and refining professional CAD drawing packs for installations, ensuring clear and detailed technical documentation that supports seamless project delivery.
This role is suited for an ambitious and driven individual seeking career progression, starting as a CAD Technician and with the long-term aim of developing into the Design Manager role.
While most duties will be performed from the office, regular client and project coordination meetings will be required to align technical requirements and ensure project success. You will report directly to the Project Design Manager, working closely with the wider design and technical teams to guide clients on installation techniques, setting out, trims, build-ups, wiring, and more.
- CAD Design & Drafting: Create and refine technical CAD drawing packs for acoustic treatments (wall panelling & ceiling installations), blinds, and curtain systems.
- Collaboration: Work with the Project Design Manager, Technical Director, and design team to translate project requirements into accurate technical drawings.
- Client Coordination: Attend and contribute to client meetings, providing expert technical guidance and ensuring alignment between design intent and installation methods.
- Technical Detailing: Deliver precise details for installation techniques, setting out, trim details, build-ups, and wiring schematics.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date drawing packs and ensure adherence to company technical and quality standards.
- Leadership Development: Support and mentor junior designers, with the longer-term goal of growing into theDesign Department lead.
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven CAD experience: Strong proficiency inAutoCAD(essential). Experience with SketchUp, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or Revit is advantageous.
- Strong technical understanding: Ideally with knowledge of acoustic treatments, blinds, curtain systems, or similar building elements.
- Meticulous attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication skills, confident in both client-facing and internal team interactions.
- Experience working in thebuilt environment(architectural, interior design, or technical detailing) is preferred.
- A proactive problem-solver, comfortable tackling design and technical challenges.
- Ambitious, motivated, and eager to take on greater responsibility over time.
- Salary: £30-40,000 per year (depending on experience).
