Job summary

Prime Appointments Ltd is seeking a CAD Technician to join a busy design company near Colchester. You will produce accurate 2D drawings and space plans using AutoCAD, supporting a collaborative design team and contributing to detailed design documentation.

The role requires good numeracy, attention to detail and strong Microsoft Office skills. Access to your own transport is essential due to location, with training and development opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Previous experience using AutoCAD in a similar technical drawing or design role.
• Proficient in producing accurate 2D drawings and layouts.
• Good working knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Producing 2D existing and proposed space plans.
• Creating detailed design packs and technical drawings.
• Supporting senior and lead planners and designers with project requirements.
• Ensuring drawings and documentation are accurate and maintained to a high standard.
• Completing general administrative tasks, including creating and updating Excel spreadsheets.

CAD Technician

Location: Near Colchester
Salary: £26,200–£30,000, depending on experience

We are recruiting for a CAD Technician to join a busy design company near Colchester. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous computer-aided design experience who enjoys producing accurate technical drawings and supporting a collaborative design team.

The role will involve creating 2D layouts, space plans and detailed design documentation using AutoCAD. The successful candidate will be organised, motivated and keen to develop their technical skills, with opportunities for long-term training and career progression.

Due to the location, access to your own transport is essential.

• Working hours: Monday–Thursday, 8:30am–5:00pm; Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm
