Job summary

A property consultancy in Birmingham is seeking an experienced CAD Technician to support project leads and produce technical drawings. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Building Services, proficiency in AutoCAD 2D and Revit 3D, and a strong attention to detail. Job description

Niyaa people are partnered with a property consultancy in Birmingham that are looking for a CAD Technician on a permanent basis. Our client are looking for an experienced CAD Technician with a strong background in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) Building Services.

Key Responsibilities for the CAD Technician:

  • Support project leads across all RIBA work stages
  • Produce accurate technical drawings and computations as required
  • Stay up to date with industry developments and maintain CPD commitments
  • Adhere to internal procedures including document filing and CAD layering standards
  • Escalate any legal, contractual, or financial matters to a Partner

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and Revit 3D
  • Current workload is approximately 95% 2D and 5% 3D, with a gradual shift anticipated towards 3D
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • City and Guilds Certificate in Computer Aided Design (2D and 3D) is an advantage
