A leading construction firm in Belfast is seeking a skilled CAD Technician to produce 2D and 3D technical drawings. The ideal candidate will have experience in a CAD role, proficiency in AutoCAD and related tools, and a strong understanding of UK building regulations. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a solid CAD background to be a pivotal part of a multidisciplinary design and engineering environment.
You'll be responsible for producing precise 2D and 3D technical drawings to support design, planning, and construction projects. Working alongside engineers, architects, and project managers, you'll help transform concept designs into detailed, buildable plans that meet industry and regulatory standards.
Create and update high-quality CAD drawings and digital models
Interpret technical briefs and ensure drawings are aligned with specifications
Maintain version control and uphold documentation standards
Collaborate with teams to resolve design discrepancies and improve workflows
Support BIM integration where applicable and contribute to CAD process improvements
Proficient in AutoCAD and other CAD tools (e.g. Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation)
At least 2 years' experience in a similar CAD or drafting role within construction, engineering, or architectural environments
Strong understanding of UK building regulations and construction methods
Clear communicator and team player with a detail-oriented mindset
Eligible to work in the UK
Qualifications such as NVQ, BTEC, or HNC/HND in Construction or Engineering
Experience working within a BIM environment
Familiarity with document control platforms like Viewpoint or Autodesk Construction Cloud
CSCS Card (or willingness to obtain)
