Job summary

John Charles Limited is seeking a Technical Designer - CAD & Estimating in West Sussex. The role combines CAD design with project support, administration, estimating and quotations, costing, and ensuring projects are accurately documented.

You will produce CAD designs, prepare quotations and estimates, and support projects from enquiry to completion in a predominantly office-based role.

Qualifications

• Experience in CAD/design combined with estimating/quotations.
• Background in an engineering, manufacturing or technical setting.
• Strong numerical and analytical abilities with good attention to detail.

Technical Designer - CAD & Estimating

I'm currently recruiting for a Technical Designer - CAD & Estimating to join an established and growing specialist engineering/manufacturing business near West Sussex.

This is a varied role combining CAD design, project support, administration, estimating and quotations, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both the technical and commercial sides of a project.

The role

This position is roughly split between project administration/support and technical design - estimating.

You'll be responsible for supporting projects from enquiry through to completion, producing CAD designs, preparing quotations and estimates, and ensuring projects are accurately costed and documented.

About you

We're looking for someone with a background in CAD/design who also has experience with estimating, quotations or costing.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience using CAD software
• Experience working in an engineering, manufacturing or technical environment
• Experience producing quotations, estimates or costings
• Strong commercial awareness
• Excellent attention to detail
• Good numerical and analytical skills
• Strong organisation and administration skills
• The ability to interpret technical requirements and drawings
• Good communication skills
