Do you enjoy collaborating with sales and project teams and getting on-site to make sure designs work in the real world?
Our client is a leading industrial manufacturer supplying high-capacity equipment to large commercial laundries across the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth, they’re looking for a CAD & Projects Designer to join their close-knit team and support projects from sales proposal through to installation.
In this role, you’ll own project files, create accurate drawings, and develop costed technical solutions that help clients modernise existing plants or build turnkey facilities. You’ll work closely with Sales and Project Managers, with occasional travel for site surveys.

Main Responsibilities
  • Take ownership of project files from initial client request/specification or from order stage with Project Managers.
  • Analyse client needs, propose technical solutions, and prepare complete cost estimates.
  • Produce project drawings for proposals and execution (AutoCAD 2D essential; 3D advantageous).
  • Complete site measurements and surveys, including 3D scan surveys when required (occasional UK & Ireland travel).
  • Attend client meetings with Sales/Project Managers to clarify scope and constraints.
  • Liaise with factories and subcontractors to prepare/validate drawings and technical solutions.
  • Validate solutions with Sales Managers and support proposal drafting/reviews.
Skills & Experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D (3D experience a plus).
  • Background in CAD design/project design within engineering, manufacturing, or similar.
  • Strong technical analysis and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Confident communicator, comfortable working with clients, factories, and subcontractors.
  • Organised, able to manage multiple live projects and deadlines.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for site surveys.
Additional Information
  • 8:30am – 5:00pm, Monday – Friday.
  • 25 days holiday per year.
  • Company pension.
  • Private healthcare plan.
