Job summary

AVK-Seg is seeking a CAD Engineer to produce accurate drawings and support project planning, reports, and technical submissions. The role requires strong CAD skills, BIM/Revit expertise, and collaboration with clients and engineers to meet project specifications.

You will contribute to continuing projects, attend site reviews, and help develop technical solutions while upholding UK standards and quality expectations. Hybrid working and health benefits are available.

Qualifications

• A design qualification or equivalent.
• Proven experience in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit or similar).
• Essential BIM/Revit capability for modelling and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist and contribute to ongoing and new engineering projects.
• Liaise with clients and contractors to ensure detailed designs meet requirements.
• Attend site reviews, collect survey data and provide design feedback as needed.
• Support planning of projects and delivery of reports and technical submissions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of CAD drafting standards and UK codes of practice.

Job description

The CAD Engineer works with the team of engineers, Project Managers and the client/customer andis responsible forthe production of detailed andaccuratedrawings that meet both project specifications and industry standards. The CAD Engineer alsoassistsin project planning and in the preparation of reports, technical submissions,designsand drawings. This role has responsibility for quality,processand thehigh standardsour customers expect. Industry/job training will beprovidedand a building services background would be useful.

Key Objectives:

• Responsible for detailed and accurate drawings and designs, plus assistance with reports and technical submissions, to align with client/customer specifications.

• Provide input and support to the planning of projects and the development of technical solutions to meet project requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist and contribute to on-going and new engineering projects.

• Liaison with clients and outside parties/contractors to ensure accurate and detailed designed are produced according to key requirements.
• Attend site and project review as required, take detailed survey information and feedback recommendations.
• Provide support in the development of construction and technical solutions to meet customer/client specific needs.
• Provide input into the planning of projects and assist Project Managers to correctly scope out projects, with timelines and verification activities.
• Assist in the preparation of clear reports, technical submissions, designs and drawings.
• Continuous development of good technical understanding of all areas of CAD drafting, AutoCAD, MEP, BDS, REVIT and BIM.
• Maintain knowledge of appropriate technical standards, legislation, codes of practice and UK standards.
• Assist in the generation of AVK standard drawings.
• Other Departmental activities as requested by the business.

Key Requirements:

• Qualification inDesign, or relevant field.

• Proven experience with CAD software, such as AutoCAD,SolidWorks,Revitor similar.

• REVIT/BIM –Essential skill

• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and material properties.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

• Good communicationskills, both written and verbal.
