Job description

Job Title: CAD Draughtsperson

ESS Employment is seeking a CAD Draughtsperson to work as part of a team for our well-established client. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing new products and components, jig fixtures, and related materials as directed by the Drawing Office Manager. The ideal candidate should possess excellent organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

1. Utilise CAD software (SolidWorks) to create detailed technical drawings and models, components, and jig fixtures.
2. Collaborate closely with engineers and other stakeholders to develop innovative and functional designs that meet customer requirements and industry standards.
3. Conduct design reviews and participate in cross-functional team meetings to ensure design integrity, manufacturability, and adherence to project timelines.
4. Assist in resolving design-related issues and provide technical support to production and quality control teams as needed.
5. Report to the Drawing Office Manager.

Personal Profile

• Skilled in the use of SolidWorks CAD system for drawing products and jig fixtures.
• Experience working to ISO standards.
• Ability to maintain a clean and tidy workspace in line with health and safety requirements.
• Willing to visit customer sites as necessary to carry out design duties.
• Proficient in using office machinery according to manufacturers’ guidelines.
• Attends meetings and training as required.
• Willing to grow with the company.
• Maintains and controls the change record system (DAR).
• Performs other general office duties, including answering phones.
• Own transport is essential for this role.

• Tuesday: 08:30 - 17:00
• Wednesday: 08:30 - 17:00
• Thursday: 08:30 - 17:00
• Friday: 08:30 - 16:30
