Job summary

Energy Jobline ZR is seeking a CAD Designer for an Electrical and Design Contractor based near Coventry, England. You will produce detailed drawings, 3D CAD models and technical documentation to support design, manufacture and refurbishment of rotating electrical machinery.

Essential: HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering and at least five years’ engineering design experience; proficiency in engineering drawings and 3D CAD; knowledge of tolerancing and manufacturing processes; experience with BOMs

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum five years' experience in an engineering design environment.
• Proficient in producing engineering drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, geometric tolerancing and manufacturing processes.
• Experience producing Bills of Materials and engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, assemblies and 3D CAD models for new equipment, upgrades and retrofit projects.
• Prepare detailed designs for stator, rotor and associated mechanical components for rotating electrical machinery.
• Produce winding layouts, connection diagrams and associated electrical manufacturing drawings.
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing documentation.
• Support Design Engineers throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all drawings and documentation comply with company standards, customer specifications and applicable engineering codes.
• Design production tooling and fixtures where required to support manufacturing activities.

Job DescriptionA great opportunity for a CAD Designer to join an Electrical and Design Contractor is now available based in their offices near Coventry, England. You will be responsible for producing accurate engineering drawings, models and technical documentation to support the design, manufacture, refurbishment and repair of rotating electrical machinery. We are looking for experienced Designers, knowledge in rotating machinery including motors/ generators or hydro-electric equipment would be desirable but not essential.

• Produce detailed manufacturing drawings, assemblies and 3D CAD models for new equipment, upgrades and retrofit projects.
• Prepare detailed designs for stator, rotor and associated mechanical components for rotating electrical machinery.
• Produce winding layouts, connection diagrams and associated electrical manufacturing drawings.
• Develop Bills of Materials (BOMs) and manufacturing documentation.
• Support Design Engineers throughout the project lifecycle.

• Understanding of Quality Management Systems and engineering compliance requirements.
• Experience designing production tooling or manufacturing fixtures.
