Job Title: CAD Designer

My client is seeking a talented and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join their growing team. This is a hands-on design role working with an existing team of two CAD Designers, contributing to the full lifecycle of mechanical building services design.

Responsibilities:

  1. Produce high-quality drawings and provide engineering calculations to ensure the successful delivery of company projects.
  2. Develop detailed schematics, layouts, elevations, and mechanical drawings using AutoCAD.
  3. Create and modify schematics for various projects, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  4. Collaborate with project teams to understand design requirements and provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle.
  5. Conduct design reviews and incorporate feedback to enhance project outcomes.
  6. Perform mechanical engineering calculations, including heat loss, pipework, and duct sizing, using tools such as Hevacomp.
  7. Prepare presentation materials to effectively communicate designs at client and project team meetings.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Proficiency using AutoCAD; experience with Revit is advantageous.
  2. 2 years of experience in mechanical building services or HVAC design.
  3. Excellent attention to detail with a keen eye for accuracy in technical drawings.
  4. Experience using Hevacomp and modelling tools SAP/SBEM.
  5. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing individual tasks effectively.
  6. Strong problem-solving skills with the capability to troubleshoot design issues as they arise.
  7. Good communication skills to articulate design ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
