CAD Designer - Stoke-on-Trent - £33,000 to £45,000 DOE
Permanent | Full-Time | On-site | Open to Graduates & Time-Served Designers
What's the Opportunity?
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established, forward-thinking manufacturing business based in Stoke-on-Trent, designing high-quality, bespoke products for a specialised industry.
You'll be responsible for creating custom and standard furniture designs, translating concepts into practical CAD drawings, and generating CNC programs to support production. Working closely with the wider manufacturing and technical teams, you'll help deliver innovative, tailored solutions that reflect evolving customer needs.
What You'll Be Doing (Key Responsibilities):
Create 2D/3D CAD designs for bespoke and standard products
Translate CAD drawings into CNC programs
Support production by providing clear specifications and accurate BOMs
Liaise with sales, marketing, and technical teams to ensure customer requirements are met
Convert legacy 2D drawings into SolidWorks
Review and refine current product designs to improve efficiency and quality
Contribute to a wide range of design projects - from standard builds to fully customised pieces
Stay open to learning and development - new tools, materials, and ideas welcome!
What You'll Need (Skills & Experience):
A qualification in Design, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering (degree or equivalent)
Experience with SolidWorks and CAM/CNC programming (furniture experience a plus!)
A hands-on, can-do attitude with good problem-solving skills
Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
Comfortable communicating with technical and non-technical teams
Knowledge of electrical interfaces or ISO standards (desirable but not essential)
A team player who enjoys contributing ideas and seeing projects through to completion
