Job summary

A leading joinery firm in Hampshire is seeking a CAD Designer to join their established team. In this hands-on role, you will design bespoke interior joinery projects, working closely with clients and the design team. The ideal candidate has experience as a joinery draughtsman and proficiency in Autodesk AutoCAD/Inventor. This position offers the opportunity to work on high-quality projects across various sectors.

• Experience working with wood and/or specialist joinery.

About the role:

As a CAD Designer, you ll work in an established joinery team focusing on high-end joinery projects. This hands-on role involves designing bespoke interior joinery projects and collaborating closely with the design team to deliver high-quality solutions for a diverse range of clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Carry out measured site surveys and translate findings into accurate design drawings.
• Develop clear and practical manufacturing drawings from architectural concepts.
• Ensure technical drawings are cost-effective and incorporate specialist systems such as M&E, AV and IT where required.
• Apply and maintain consistent CAD standards, including layouts, line weights, numbering and layer management.
• Work directly with clients and design teams to define project briefs, present options, and secure approvals at key stages.
• Research and apply knowledge of current materials, products and design trends to enhance project outcomes.

What we re looking for:

• Prior experience as a joinery draughtsman.
• Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD/Inventor
• Experience working with wood and/or specialist joinery.
• Ideally comes from a bench hand joiner background though not essential.
