Job Title: CAD Designer
Location: Consett
Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Role Summary:
We are looking for a CAD Designer to join our growing team. This is a key role supporting the production and engineering departments by preparing precise, detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings for use in the fabrication of sheet metal and steel structures.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Produce detailed CAD drawings for fabrication and assembly using 2D and/or 3D software.
2. Collaborate with engineers and production staff to ensure manufacturability and design accuracy.
3. Interpret client briefs and specifications into production-ready designs.
4. Use software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or SigmaNEST (experience in any is advantageous).
5. Maintain drawing records and documentation to ensure traceability and compliance with quality standards.
6. Support project delivery from initial design through to final production and installation.

1. Experience with 2D/3D CAD design in a fabrication or engineering environment.
2. Proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or SigmaNEST.
3. Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication processes and material behavior.
4. Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
5. Good communication skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
6. Relevant qualifications in CAD design, mechanical engineering, or similar fields are desirable.
