Are you an experienced System Design Engineer or CAD Design Engineer with a passion for high-quality electrical and mechanical design? We're working with a world-leading maritime systems integrator who is looking to grow their Engineering team in Redhill, Surrey.
In this role, you'll work alongside engineering and project teams to develop electrical & mechanical drawings and design solutions for complex systems used in cutting-edge maritime applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce high-quality 2D and 3D drawings using CAD tools to ISO and BS8888 standards
- Develop design concepts from first principles
- Translate rough mechanical layouts into refined technical outputs
- Generate STEP files and Visio diagrams as required
- Ensure compliance with EU directives, EMC/LVD standards, and BS7671 (18th Edition)
- Design electrical enclosures, including control panels and 19" racks
- Work independently to prioritise and complete tasks to meet deadlines
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on integration projects
Key Requirements:
- HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline
- Strong experience in electrical or systems design
- Familiarity with UK electrical safety regulations and standards (e.g., BS7671, Electricity at Work Act)
- Proficient in CAD software (AutoCAD essential; SEE Electrical or ETAP advantageous)
- Knowledge of manufacturing techniques and material properties
- Excellent judgement and problem-solving ability
- Ability to manage own workload and see projects through to completion
The ideal candidate must be eligible to obtain SC Clearance and able to travel on site in Redhill.
