Location: RG7 4PR, between Reading and Basingstoke, with free onsite parking.

Package: £39,280 - £50,000 (depending on suitability, qualifications & experience)

About the Role

AWE seeks a CAD Library Manager to oversee a high-quality, efficient library of models and parts supporting PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) for current and future projects, particularly within the UK CASD (Continuous At Sea Deterrence).

This role is ideal for an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer with 3D CAD skills aiming to advance their career.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates with experience in:

  • Product Lifecycle Management (PLM)
  • Material selection application and knowledge
  • Design office environment experience
  • Proficiency in MS Excel
  • Stakeholder communication skills (technical & non-technical)

Essential qualifications include:

  • A degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent in engineering supported by practical experience
  • Experience with Computer Aided Design systems
  • Knowledge of Mechanical Engineering Design, producing detailed 3D models, drawings, and specifications
  • Experience with PLM and CAD systems, preferably Siemens Teamcenter and NX (training provided if needed)
  • Understanding of industry standards (British, ISO, etc.)
  • Practical knowledge of machine tools and manufacturing processes
Responsibilities

The role involves:

  • Creating, updating, maintaining a CAD library of parts and models
  • Auditing the library for accuracy
  • Implementing quality control measures
  • Supporting CAD standards organization-wide
  • Assisting users and managing library updates following PLM procedures
  • Maintaining design history
  • Collaborating on project planning and scoping
  • Providing technical leadership and mentoring
  • Upholding high standards in ESH, security, and quality
